2 Years of Quilts Unscripted Bee from Goer

A little history on the Quilts Unscripted Bee and my personal history with quilt bees...

I’m a joiner. I love people and enjoy creating community. (I also love bold color.) Cheers from QuiltCon!

Way back on 2014 when I was a new quilt blogger and starting to connect with others in the online quilting community, I started participating in quilt bees (and quilt swaps, but that's a conversation for another day).

First, I joined do. Good Stitches, a charity bee. I was a piecer. The organization of do. Good Stitches is via a Flickr group, with directions shared ...

My Favourite Quilts at QuiltCon and some Slow Stitching. from The Cozy Quilter

The week got away from me and I did not show my favourite quilts from QuiltCon so I will show them to you in this post along with my stitching efforts from this past week.  I'll start with my stitching...

I have finished the flowers to the right of the rabbit in my Spring cross stitch picture and I'm now working on the carrots and beets under the rabbit and the flowers on the left side. QuiltCon, part 3: touring from With Strings Attached

On Friday (just a week ago as I write this post) Anna and I took a day to be tourists.

We began at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Archives.

From the "growing up in Plains" section.

We then went to the Atlanta Botanical Garden .  The 76-degree weather was mild even for Atlanta and we had lunch ...

QuiltCon, part 4: people and shopping from With Strings Attached

It was such fun to meet blogging friend Preeti ! We joined her and her friend  Mell for dinner on Saturday.

At the opening session I recognized the woman who sat next to us at the end of the row.   Merikay Waldvogel is a quilt historian. She said she'd just returned from a three-week textile tour of India.

No, Kaffe wasn't at the show but his cut-out was.  LOL!

Thomas Knauer was autographing his latest book.  I've admired his work and quilting philosophy for a long time.

(Authors/books: a little like being at ALA.)

Carole Lyle's ...

Sewing to and from QuiltCon in Atlanta from The Cozy Quilter

My husband and I drove to Atlanta last week so I could go to QuiltCon.  This was my second time attending this great gathering of modern quilters from around the world.  My friend, Christine and I went to the 2019 conference in Nashville, but unfortunately, she was unable to come this time.  As you know, I like to sew in the car to stay awake on long car trips and this trip was no exception.  I did quite a bit of stitching on my Spring picture. I forgot a couple of floss colours at home so the holes will be ...
